Auxiliary To Host Saturday Lunch

BUSTI – The Busti Fire Department Auxiliary is requesting all members to send a dish to pass on Saturday before 11 a.m. for the funeral luncheon. Please contact an officer if you need someone to pick up your donation. The regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. Please try to attend as we are making plans to assist the firemen with their tractor pull on June 30 and other activities for the summer.

Civil War Series Begins Saturday

MACHIAS – The first event in the summer-long Civil War series at the Cattaraugus County Museum, in the Stone House, 9824 Route 16, Machias, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. Valgene Dunham will discuss and sign copies of his book ”Allegany to Appomattox: The Life and Letters of Private William Whitlock of the 188th NY Volunteers.” Weather permitting, the discussion will be outdoors. Participants should take a chair or blanket. Indoor accommodations will be made in case of rain. Dunham, who was born in Jamestown and raised in Lorain, Ohio, studied biology at the State College at Fredonia, Western Kentucky University and Coastal Carolina University. JHS Class Of 2013 To Host Fundraiser

The Jamestown High School Class of 2013 will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8-10 a.m. Saturday in Applebee’s, Lakewood. Tickets are $6 per person and will be available at the door; or call 664-0653.

Leon Church To Host Brunch

CHERRY CREEK – The Leon Celebration Fellowship Church, intersection of Route 62 and Cherry Creek Hill, will host a mother and daughter brunch at 11 a.m. on Saturday. A special program and a homemade hat show will be featured. For reservations, can call 287-2736 or 296-5791.

Thule Lodge To Host Dinner

BEMUS POINT – The Thule Lodge, located at 4123 Pancake Hill Road, will hold its dinner at the lodge today from 5-7 p.m. The dinner will feature a fish dinner, and a second choice meal of scalloped potatoes and ham. A choice of desserts is also available. Dinners are open to all. Thule Lodge serves to preserve the Swedish heritage through events and activities, and welcomes new members.

Historical Society Museum Opens

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Valley Historical Society museum in Sinclairville is now open for the season. The museum is open on Sundays from 2-5 p.m. from May through September except for holiday weekends. The museum will be open to the public for tours on May 19, June 2 and June 9. There is no charge for admission.

Rap Group To Meet Saturday

The Chautauqua Region Multiple Sclerosis Rap Group will hold its monthly ”rap session” from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Jones Hill Memorial Rehabilitation Center auditorium, 51 Glasgow Ave., Jamestown. This open discussion support group meeting is available to all those dealing with MS, their family and friends.
