Sherman Church To Host Dinner

SHERMAN – The Sherman Community Church, 107 Church St., Sherman, will hold an old-fashioned chicken barbecue, rain or shine, beginning at 4 p.m. until gone on Saturday. The cost is $8 for adults; children, $6. Also included is macaroni salad, baked beans, rolls and homemade pies. Takeouts will be available. Proceeds from the dinner will help defray the costs of repairing the church steeple.

Meet Friday

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 267 will hold its next regular meeting on Friday. Chapter 267 meets at Friendly’s Restaurant in Jamestown’s Brooklyn Square, starting at 11:15 a.m. Topics of discussion will be the “Chained CPI”, a membership contest and plans for the July picnic meeting. All active and retired federal employees are invited to attend.

Plant Sale

Set For Friday

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St., Sinclairville, will hold its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Donations of plants for the sale are welcome. Hardy, locally grown perennials, annuals, shrubs and trees are some of the offerings that will be available. LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Legion Post 1286 will be hosting the “Rustic Ramblers,” on Friday, from 7-11 p.m.. Dinners will be served from 5-9 p.m.

JCC To Host Free Presentation

Leadership strategies for personal and professional growth will be explored in “Unbundle It,” a free presentation by Elliott Haverlack from 8-9:30 a.m. Friday at Jamestown Community College. The program, offered by JCC’s Center for Continuing Education, includes a light breakfast. To register, call 338-1005. Haverlack is the author of Unbundle It – Simplify Your Perspective to Live a Better Life and Unleash the Power of Your Team, which examines successful labor relations, strategic planning and crisis-management techniques. Haverlack, president of Hampshire Pet Products, is a former corporate executive at Ainsworth Pet Nutrition and Heinz Co.

Scandinavian’s To Host Dinner
