Linnea Hagglund Carlson

Linnea Hagglund Carlson, 81, of Route 62, Kennedy, passed away Sunday (May 12, 2013) in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa.

A lifelong area resident she was born Oct. 22, 1931, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Oswald T. and Agnes C. Olson Hagglund.

Linnea was a 1950 graduate of Lakewood High School and along with her late husband LeRoy O. Carlson owned and operated Carlson Farm on Route 62 in Kennedy.

She was a member of the Mothers Club, Eastern Stars, Amarath, Thule Lodge, Home Bureau, Kennedy PTA and was a room mother when her three boys were young. Linnea enjoyed knitting, crocheting, painting, puzzles, gardening and baking. She will be remembered as a dedicated farm wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are three sons: David L. (Lisa) Carlson, Brian R. Carlson (Roxanne Helman), Darrin H. (Tracie) Carlson, all of Kennedy; eight grandchildren: Lindsey, Andrew, Shelby and Daniel Carlson, Jeffrey and Joseph Carlson, and Garrett and Anna Carlson; and a sister-in-law, Janice Hagglund, of Lakewood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy O. Carlson, whom she married May 19, 1951, in Ashville, who died June 11, 1988; a grandson, Joshua David Carlson, who died May 11, 1985; and a brother, Ture Hagglund.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday (May 20, 2013) in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Haglund will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
