Cattaraugus Man Back In Jail

CATTARAUGUS – A Cattaraugus man is back in County Jail for the second time in a week.

Sheriff’s deputies picked up Kirk L. Sterling, 27, at 6:20 p.m. Sunday and he was charged with violation of probation. He is being held without bail and is due back in court at a later date.

On May 5, Sterling was charged after deputies say he assaulted his neighbor’s children. At the time, Sterling was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree harassment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. It is unclear what led to the May 5 altercation, police said. No further information was available.
