Visitors Bureau Receives Grant From CRCF

CHAUTAUQUA – The Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau recently received a $4,000 grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation to replace its aging computer server with a new, twin hard drive unit.

“This is a vital part of managing data, photo and video resources which are essential for continued promotion of the tourism industry in Chautauqua County,” said Andrew Nixon, executive director of the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau.

Microsoft Office suites were also upgraded on six workstations. Nixon added, “While CCVB has been able to replace individual workstation hardware as necessary, the jump to a new server plus the software upgrades would not have been possible without the generous support of the Community Foundation.”

The Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau exchanges resources with, and provides information to, a multitude of stakeholders including visitors, area tourism businesses, event planners, media, advertisers and state tourism partners. The organization relies heavily on its computer and software infrastructure to maintain and communicate these constantly expanding resources on a daily basis.

The Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau, a nonprofit agency, is the official tourism promotion agency for Chautauqua County and New York state’s Chautauqua-Allegheny Region including Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties. For more information visit or call 357-4569.
