Cougars Make Most Of Four Hits

SINCLAIRVILLE – Cassadaga Valley (10-6, 9-2) had only four hits, but it was enough as the Cougars defeated Cattaraugus-Little Valley, 3-1, in Division 2 baseball on Monday

Ken Oakes had an RBI double and a single to lead Cassadaga Valley. The other Cougars’ runs scored on a fielder’s choice, an error and a passed ball.

Oakes was also the winning pitcher as he allowed five hits and no walks and fanned seven. The run he allowed was unearned.

For, C-LV Luke McKenzie and Matt Booth each had a single and a double.

The losing pitcher was Sam Agnew.


FREWSBURG- Frewsburg (10-6, 8-2) rolled to a 25-4 win over Silver Creek (1-10).

Trevor Spicer had four singles and four RBIs for the Bears while Tage Johnson and Dane Johnson each had a double, a single and four RBIs.

Winning pitch pitcher Dane Johnson allowed four hits and three walks and fanned five in five innings. Spicer and Pat Caldwell pitched an inning each.

Adam Klajbor had the lone RBI for Silver Creek.
