Catt. County Sheriff Sponsors Local Police Training Class

LITTLE VALLEY Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb recently announced the completion of local police trainings. On April 26, 13 local law enforcement officers completed 80 hours of specialized training as a general topic instructor. Participants were instructed on topics ranging from defining training needs, psychology of learning, writing instructional objectives, oral communications and lesson planning. In addition, officers were required to give presentations. Participants included:

Patrolman Lance Edwards, Olean City Police Department

Officer Kyle Suckow, Erie County Medical Center Police Department

Officer Joseph Carlo, Erie County Medical Center Police Department

Sergeant James Comstock, Olean Police Department

Investigator Benjamin Shields, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office

Completion of this training allows participants to teach any general topics class to other law enforcement officers.
