Poland Seniors To Meet For Dinner Wednesday
KENNEDY – Town of Poland Seniors will meet for a potluck lunch Wednesday in the Kennedy Fire Hall. Members attending should take a dish to pass and their table service. Cliff and Liz Barnes, Bob and Shirley Schauers will be the committee. Payment is also due for the June 25 trip to the Aquarium of Niagara and Carousel Museum. The cost is $64 per person.
Sixty seniors, two guests and three new members attended the Easter dinner and meeting, catered by 3Cs Catering. Bob and Sally Canniff, Mr. and Mrs. Barnes and Shirley Schauers were the committee. Julie Heilman led table grace, and Bob Cross called tables. Donna Cross called the meeting to order with a flag salute and song accompanied on the piano by Lou Ball. Reports by the secretary and treasurer were approved as read. A moment of silent prayer was held for deceased member Betty Meade.
Celebrating birthdays were Mrs. Canniff and Ben Morey. Anniversaries were observed by Walt and Julie Heilman, 48 years; Phyllis Frink, 69 years; David and Dee Covey, 49 years.
New officers are Mrs. Cross, president; Bob Caniff, vice president; Betty Willover, secretary, and Shirley Covey, treasurer.
Mrs. Canniff spoke on future trips to the Aquarium of Niagara, June 25 and the Carousel Museum. The bus will leave the Kennedy Fire Hall at 6:55 a.m. and return at 6 p.m.
