CWC Sets Wildflower Walk

The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy invites its members and the public to join the annual Wildflower Walk today from 12:30-2:30 p.m. This year’s walk will take place at CWC’s new Elm Flats Wetland Preserve First Site on Lawson Road in Mayville. Becky Nystrom, a JCC biology professor and CWC board member, will be leading the walk. Conditions may be wet and/or muddy, so participants are asked to dress appropriately and wear waterproof boots. Those wanting to participate can register by emailing info@chautauquawatershed.org or calling the CWC office at 664-2166. This event is free for CWC members; a $5 donation is suggested for nonmembers.

Mother’s Day Buffet Planned

BEMUS POINT – The Ellery Center Fire Department, 4400 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point, will hold an all you can eat Mother’s Day breakfast buffet from 8-11 a.m. on Sunday. The cost is $6.50 for adults; $6 for seniors and children under 12. Breakfast will include eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes, pancakes, French toast, sausage gravy and biscuits, fruit, toast, juice and coffee.

Story Hour Set For Saturdays

CHERRY CREEK – The Cherry Creek Free Library will host a Children’s. Story Hour each Saturday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. Children between the ages of 3 and 8 and their parents are invited to attend.

SWCS Plans Public Hearing

The Southwestern Central School District Board of Education will hold a public budget hearing and meet the board of education candidates meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. On Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Education room at the middle school, the board will hold its regular meeting to conduct school business. The public is invited to attend all sessions.

Celoron To Hold Work Session

CELORON – The Celoron Village Board of Trustees will be holding a work session at 6 p.m. in the community center prior to the regularly scheduled board meeting at 7 p.m. Monday.

JPS To Discuss Superintendent

The Jamestown Board of Education will meet in executive session on Monday at 6 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Conference Room at 197 Martin Road on matters leading to the appointment of the next superintendent of schools.

Bocce Leagues Begin This Week

The Monday night Bocce League at St. John Church, 270 Newton Ave., will start this week at 6 p.m. Two more teams are needed to play on Wednesdays, which will start this week at 6 p.m. If interested, call Betty at 487-1639.

Spaghetti Dinner Set For Today

The Marco Polo Club will hold a spaghetti dinner today from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at its 1027 E. Second St. location. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.

Historical Society Sets Meeting

CLYMER – The Clymer Area Historical Society will meet Monday, May 20, in the Haverkamp Huis.
