HANOVER – Herbert J. Michels, 55, of King Road, Forestville was charged at 7:43 p.m. on Wednesday with felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without interlock and speed violation. Deputies observed a vehicle on King Road traveling at a high rate of speed. An investigation revealed Michels was allegedly intoxicated. Michels was found to have a revoked license for a prior DWI conviction. He was arraigned and committed to Chautauqua County Jail.


Jose R. Melendez-Rosario, 30, of West 15th St., Jamestown, was charged at 11 a.m. on Thursday with petit larceny. Melendez-Rosario was taken into custody stemming from a warrant for petit larceny. Police said he fled from Wal-Mart on Fairmount Avenue with $321.61 in merchandise. He is due back in court at a later date.
