AARP Group To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown AARP will meet Tuesday in the parlor of First Lutheran Church at noon. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass. Beverages, eating utensils, plates and cups will be provided, as well as bread and meat for sandwiches. The cost is $3 per person. Bruce Supernault will present a program on the historic Martin House in Buffalo, where he serves on the board. This house was designed by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. There will be a business meeting and a book exchange. All area seniors, age 50 and older, seeking to share their ideas and interests, to explore new horizons and to serve their community, are welcome.

Legion To Host Derek Davis

LAKEWOOD – Lakewood legion will host Derek Davis and the Tasty Groove on Saturday night from 7-11 p.m. A steak fry will be from 5-9 p.m. It is also the spring camp out. On Sunday, there will be a breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. Mothers eat free.

Zonta Club To Hold Fundraiser

The Zonta Club is taking part in a fundraiser for “Lily’s Hope” at Crossroads in Westfield on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s the fourth annual Soup-R Saturday put on by Kathy “Blanche” Milliman of Blanche’s Goodie Garden located at Cross Roads in Westfield. The fundraiser is a soup “taste-test” and sale, where all proceeds will go toward helping women in Chautauqua County receive free wigs, caps, turbans or scarves from “Lily’s Hope.” Open since November 2010, “Lily’s Hope” has helped close to 200 in need. Senior Report To Host John Hamels

Senior Report with Reed Powers will have John Hamels as the guest Saturday. Hamels will discuss the Masons. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions, comments or a shout-out. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change. Senior Report is shown live on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Mother’s Day Tea Set For Sunday

BEAR LAKE, Pa. – The Church at Bear Lake will hold a Mother’s Day tea at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Mothers, daughters and all women are welcome to attend.
