Maycock, Dechow Dominate In Lady Cardinals’ Track Win

RANDOLPH – McKenna Maycock and Taylor Dechow showed the way for unbeaten Randolph (6-0, 7-0) in Division 2 girls track on Tuesday afternoon.

Maycock captured four events and Dechow three when the Lady Cardinals (6-0, 7-0) stopped Allegany-Limestone, 93-48, and West Valley-Ellicottville, 108-32. Allegany-Limestone prevailed over West Valley-Ellicottville, 83-57.

Maycock was first in the high jump (4-10), the long jump (15-6), the 200 (26.9) and the 400 (59.4) for Randolph. Meanwhile, Dechow won the 100 hurdles (17.3), the 400 hurdles (1:11.7) and 100 (13.3).

Alyssa Stroud of Allegany-Limestone claimed the 1,500 (5:23.9) and the 3,000 (11:49.9).

CLCS TAKES TWO

MAYVILLE – Chautauqua Lake beat visiting Westfield and Cassadaga Valley in a double dual meet.

The Lady Thunderbirds, who in combined results won eight of 17 events, handled non-league foe Cassadaga Valley, 112-25, and edged Division 3 opponent Westfield, 69-68.

Courtney Zentz was the lone double winner for the victors. She placed first in both the 100-meter dash (13.6) and the triple jump (31-1).

In Division 2, Portville (2-1) got past Frewsburg, 71-60, and Maple Grove cruised to a 104-38 win over Frewsburg.

Morgan Scarpino had a huge day for Frewsburg, collecting four victories, including the 100 hurdles (18.1), the long jump (14-9), the triple jump (31-1) and the high jump (4-6).

For Maple Grove, Caroline Walter doubled in the 100 meters (13.5) and the 200 meters (28.2) and Megan Marsh was a double winner in the 400 meters (1:04.7) and the 800 meters (2:37.2).
