Pa. Man Charged After Leading Police On Pursuit

FRENCH CREEK – A Pennsylvania resident has been charged after leading police on a pursuit through Peek’n Peak Resort in the town of French Creek on Sunday.

Todd B. Farabaugh, 18, of North East, Pa., turned himself into State Police barracks in Jamestown following the chase, which lasted more than 5 miles.

According to State Police, troopers attempted to stop Farabaugh on Canterbury Drive. Farabaugh allegedly failed to stop and led troopers on a pursuit that went by the Upper Golf Course and onto Olde Road.

Speeds reached 75 mph, troopers said in a police report.

The pursuit continued on Griffin, Pekin Hill and Fox roads. Troopers ended the chase once Farabaugh entered Pennsylvania.

State Police in Erie, Pa., were notified and were able to make contact with Farabaugh. The North East resident turned himself into police in Jamestown.

Farabaugh was issued two separate speed in zone violations: driving 40 mph in a 25 mph zone and driving 75 mph in a 35 mph zone. He was charged with reckless driving, failure to comply, failure to signal, failure to stop at a stop sign and imprudent speed.
