Eighth Annual TRC Expo To Be Held May 15

The Resource Center will hold the eighth annual TRC Expo on Wednesday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at The Resource Center’s Administrative Offices, 200 Dunham Ave., Celoron.

The Resource Center provides a comprehensive array of supports to people with disabilities and their families, as well as a variety of health, dental and counseling services that are available to anyone in the community. The concept for the TRC Expo arose several years ago from the realization that because The Resource Center offers so many different types of services in about 50 locations, there are employees, service recipients, family members and community members who don’t have a clear sense about what goes on throughout the organization. The TRC Expo is designed to educate staff, service recipients, family members and the general public about the many aspects of The Resource Center.

For the TRC Expo, each department or service area creates a display. Most departments come up with creative ways to describe what they do.

The TRC Expo features free refreshments and drawings for TRC merchandise throughout the day.

Representatives from the New York State Masonic Safety Identification Program will be on hand to fingerprint children and record identifying information about them, beginning at about 1 p.m. The information later can be accessed to help find a child in the event he or she disappears.

“We are looking forward to this year’s expo. It is always a wonderful day, with a lot of fun and excitement generated by the different department displays and the enthusiastic crowds of people,” said Nancy Ingram, assistant executive director at The Resource Center, who is the lead organizer of the TRC Expo. “We hope to see everyone there.”

Admission to the TRC Expo is free. For more information, call 483-2344.
