Cemetery Assn. Meeting Tonight

The Levant Cemetery Association annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m. tonight in the Levant Wesleyan Church community room. All lot owners and interested persons are welcome to attend.

Cemetery Assn. Meeting Tonight

KENNEDY – The Myrtle Cemetery Association’s annual meeting will be at 7 p.m. tonight in the Clarks Corners Community Church, Kennedy. All board members, lot owners and others interested are urged to attend. New officers and directors will be elected. Discussion will be on cemetery rules, cost of lots and services, health and future of the association.

Westfield Seniors To Meet Tonight

WESTFIELD – Westfield Senior Citizens will meet for dinner, served by Union Relief members, at 6 p.m. tonight. Members attending should take a prize for games of bingo, which will follow dinner. The Westfield Women’s Organization served dinner to 38 seniors attended a recent meeting, called to order by Shirley Kolpien, president. Jack Dean presented a history of the Westfield area. Celebrating birthdays were Middy Riddle, Gloria Wakely, Mamie Criscione, Albert King, Ruth Cade, Carrie Trippy, Reda Hoth, Linda Haley and Jennie Vilardo. Bev and Les Yeaney, Linda and Wally Haley observed wedding anniversaries.

Library Board To Meet Tonight

The regular monthly Fluvanna Free Library board meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. tonight for a brief business meeting. Immediately after the business meeting there will be a reception for Marilyn Hooper honoring her many years of service on the board of directors at the library. Hooper served more than 30 years as a trustee, retiring in the fall of 2012. Volunteers and board members will be there to wish Hooper a great retirement.

Panama To Hold Budget Hearing

PANAMA – The Panama Central School Board of Education will hold its annual budget hearing tonight at 7 in the school auditorium. The regularly scheduled board meeting will follow the budget hearing, and will be held in the boardroom. Both meetings are open to the public.

Superintendent Search Continues

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet in executive session on today, Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. at Roberto’s Restaurant on matters leading to the appointment of the next superintendent of schools.

Reciprocity Day To Be Held

MAYVILLE – The Mayville Tuesday Club members will hold Reciprocity Day at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mayville United Methodist Church. Invited guests are affiliate clubs from Sherman, Lakewood and Bemus Point. Tuesday Club members prepare a special lunch. Authors Kathleen Crocker and Jane Currie will be the guest speakers to talk about their latest publication, “Legendary Locals of the Chautauqua Lake Region.”
