Douglas L. Johnson

BEAR LAKE, Pa. – Douglas L. Johnson, 58, of Main Street, Bear Lake, died, Thursday, (May 2, 2013) at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa., due to complications of heart surgery.

He was born July 30, 1954, in Jamestown, the son of David Sr. and Constance Blood Johnson.

He had been employed at TitanX and was a member of the NRA, Samuel Derby Post 556, American Legion, Frewsburg, and was the former mayor of Bear Lake.

Doug loved and enjoyed his family, his dog Harley, hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR racing and con-certs.

Besides his parents of Kiantone, he was survived by his wife, Kathryn Slack Johnson, whom he had been with since 1978, a daughter: Michelle Wiggins of Jamestown; three grandchildren: Rachael Johnson, Kyheim and Kentrell Wiggins, two brothers: David Jr. (Glenda) Johnson of Kennedy and John (Candy) Johnson of Kiantone; two sisters: Katherine Johnson of Kiantone, and Barbara E. (Chris) Suckow of Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.

The Rev. Don Reese, pastor of Ivory Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in Fen-tonville Cemetery, Frewsburg.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
