Red Dragons Run Div. 3 Baseball Record To 7-1

MAYVILLE – Aaron Germain delivered a three-run double during Maple Grove’s five-run fourth inning to lead the Red Dragons (8-7, 7-1) to an 18-1 victory over Chautauqua Lake in a Division 3 baseball game on Saturday.

Germain finished the game with two hits and three RBIs while Jake Swan added three hits (two doubles and a triple) and Jonah Tanner two hits (double) in the victory.

Maple Grove starter Matt Roach struck out three and didn’t issue a walk to earn the win.

For Chautauqua Lake (1-7, 1-6), Ryan Linnecke had two hits in three at-bats and Tyler Furlow connected for a double.

NON-LEAGUE

CLYMER ROLLS

MAYVILLE – Clymer rolled to an 18-3 victory over Chautauqua Lake in non-league baseball action on Friday.

Led by Jacob Wiggers, who went 4-for-5 with a triple, and Austin Cramer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, Clymer (6-3, 5-2) scored in every inning but one, and broke the game open during the five-run second frame.

Chautauqua Lake (1-6, 1-5) committed five errors and walked 14 in defeat.

Along with Wiggers and Cramer, Austin Crosby hit a triple and a single and Andrew Heil delivered two hits in three at-bats.

Mitch Einink was the winning pitcher. He scattered nine hits over five innings, walking two and sending down four on strikes.

For the Thunderbirds, Ryan Linnecke had three hits while Kyle Mayer and Avery Webb had two hits apiece.
