Pa. Fugitive Picked Up During Traffic Stop

NORTH HARMONY – A Pennsylvania fugitive from justice was picked up during a traffic stop Thursday afternoon.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Jeremiah J. Kays of Erie, Pa., was pulled over for not wearing a helmet while riding his motorcycle on Route 394 in North Harmony.

After a short investigation, Kays was charged for not wearing a helmet, having improper license plates, an uninsured and unregistered motorcycle, unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle. It was also determined that Kays was wanted in Pennsylvania.

Kays was arraigned in Town of North Harmony Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail.
