Rummage Sale Begins Today
FREWSBURG – Trinity United Methodist Church, corner of Ivory and Wigren Road, Frewsburg, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and a bag sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.
Thule Lodge To Hold Friday Meal
BEMUS POINT – The Thule Lodge, 4123 Pancake Hill Road, will hold its first Friday night dinner of the season this week. The main menu will be a fish dinner, and the second choice will be a Swedish dinner of korv and rotmos. The dinner is from 5-7 p.m. and is open to everyone. Thule Lodge serves to preserve the Swedish heritage through events and activities.
Rummage Sale Begins Friday
CHERRY CREEK – The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church, Main Street, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday with a bake and bag sale. For donations, call 296-5213 and leave a message.
Senior Trivia Night Is May 9
The United Senior Council of Chautauqua is holding a Senior Trivia Day Thursday, May 9. Dennis Webster, local radio personality, will emcee this event, which will take place at the North Harmony Senior Citizen Center at 1. Seniors are invited to compete for prizes of $100, $75 and $50. Seniors can compete singularily or in team comprised of two or three. Participating teams will compete in three rounds of questions, with 10 questions per round. To register call Theresa Perrin at 665-2414. There is a registration fee of $5 per team.
Sen. Young To Speak On Show
MAYVILLE – Senior Report with Reed Powers will have state Sen. Cathy Young, R-C-I-Olean, as the guest on Saturday’s television program. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. Saturdays. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. Senior Report is shown live Saturdays on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.
