Cemetery Group To Meet Thursday

GERRY – The Gerry Hill Cemetery Association annual meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Gerry Volunteer Fire Hall. All individuals having family interred in the cemetery are urged to attend the meeting. Discussion will be on cemetery upkeep and maintenance. New officers and trustees will be elected. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.

Bible Study Begins Monday

LAKEWOOD – Just For The Ladies Bible studies are will begin Monday, May 13, from 6-8:30 p.m., at Lakewood Baptist Church, 150 Erie St., Lakewood, with Priscilla Shirer’s “Gideon: Your Weakness. Service Times Change

JCC Registration Ends May 17

Jamestown Community College is offering day and evening courses as well as internship and online learning opportunities this summer. Six-week sessions will be conducted May 20 through July 1 and July 8 through Aug. 15 at JCC’s Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses and North County and Warren centers. In-person registration will be conducted until May 17 for Summer Session 1 and until July 5 for Summer Session 2. Job Corps Tour Set For Thursday

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Job Corps Academy will host an informational session and tour on its campus, 8115 Glasgow Road, Cassadaga, starting at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Cassadaga Job Corps provides training to begin a career in the healthcare and construction industries as well as GED classes to those in need of a diploma. Training in Certified Nurse Aide, carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical are available as well as advanced training for Licensed Practical Nurse. The academy will accept young adults, ages 16 to 24, who are committed to a rigorous education and training program and are prepared to launch a career. Applicants can apply for on-center living or off-center living, and all applicants will enroll on a full federal scholarship if accepted.
