EAST OTTO – Kylene M. Hellriegel, 28, of Dayton, was charged with petit larceny three counts and criminal possession of fifth-degree stolen property Thursday. Hellriegel was arrested and issued appearance tickets to appear in East Otto Town Court on a later date. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office investigated an incident of larcenies that occurred at a residence on Crumb Hill Road in the town of East Otto. Owners of the residence have been experiencing the theft of money from their residence that seemed to be consistent with days the house cleaner was coming to clean. The incident was reported to the sheriff’s office.

KIANTONE – Kenneth M. Ruch, 53, of Celoron, was charged at 10:43 p.m. on April 19 with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater and failure to keep right. Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle after observing it drift across center lines into the opposing lane of travel on Route 60 in the town of Kiantone. The patrol vehicle had to move onto the shoulder to avoid a head on collision. Ruch was identified as operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He was charged and released from custody to appear in Kiantone Court on a later date.

ELLINGTON – Christopher P. Brown, 41, of Bemus Point, was charged at 1:04 a.m. on Thursday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and parking on the highway. The Sheriff’s Office received a vehicle complaint on Butman Road in the town of Ellington. According to the caller, a vehicle was parked in the roadway, running, apparently unoccupied and nobody around it. Deputies responded and located the vehicle with a male operator slumped over, sleeping inside the vehicle. Brown was intoxicated and arrested for driving while intoxicated and physical resistance following his arrest. A check of his driver’s license shows his status as revoked due to previous alcohol offenses. Additional charges are pending the outcome of a chemical blood test.

WESTFIELD – Joshua A. Powell, 27, of Mayville, was charged at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument. Westfield Police observed a suspicious male outside of a local convenient store at 128 E. Main St., Westfield. Upon further investigation the officers found Powell to be in possession of two hypodermic needles and a controlled substance. Powell was charged, arraigned in Westfield Village Court and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail. He is to appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date.
