Jamestown Fire Department Extinguishes Fire At Blackstone Enterprises Friday

The Jamestown Fire Department responded to an incident at Blackstone Enterprises, 100 Blackstone Ave in Jamestown, on Friday night.

According to Sam Salemme, battalion chief for the Jamestown Fire Department, upon entering the scene a fire was discovered in the southwest corner of the building.

“Our guys used two dry-chemical powder extinguishes to put out the fire,” said Salemme. “We got the fire out within seconds, so now we’re just letting the building ventilate the smoke.”

A pile of combustibles on the floor was determined to be the source of the fire.
