Board Of Health To Meet Thursday

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Board of Health will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in the HRC fourth-floor conference room in Mayville. The meeting will include a review of property transfer procedures by Bill Boria, water resource specialist. Tentative remaining 2013 meeting dates are July 25 and Oct. 24. Busti Group To Meet Thursday

The Busti-Hamlet Development Group will be meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Busti Fire Department, 886 Mill Road, Busti. The public is welcome to attend.

Thrift Shop Has New Items

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., Jamestown, is overflowing with new items, including high-end ladies golf shoes, apparel and scrubs. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Donated items are received on those days as well as 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays. Proceeds from the shop, which is run by volunteers from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, RSVP and the community, are donated to local outreach programs.

Westside Women To Meet For Lunch

Carolyn Barber, Christina Jones, Elaine Damsteegt, Waneta Melquist and Shirley Edgren will host the Westside Women’s lunch and meeting beginning at noon on Friday in the Bethel Lutheran Church. Marilyn Ryan-Piper will present a musical program on piano. Donations of clothing and food for the food pantry will be accepted.

Benefit Concert Is Saturday

On Saturday, local band Teachers, Preachers … and Trent will perform a benefit concert for Southwestern High School’s Aftergrad Party. The show starts at 7 p.m. TPT is made up of local musicians and will be playing classic and pop hits from the 1970s to today. The band’s lineup consists of Adam Rohler on vocals and keyboards, Justin Joyner on vocals and guitar, Jay Baehr on guitars and vocals, Scott Lumia on bass guitar, Michael Tuccio on drums and Trent Stafford on lead guitar. Tickets for the show are available at Southwestern’s main office. The cost of pre-sale tickets are $6, or at the door for $8.

Driving Course Begins Thursday

WESTFIELD – The YWCA Westfield will host an AARP-sponsored safe driving course from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The course is open to the general public, AARP membership is not required. The cost is $17 for AARP members, $19 for all others. Those completing the course maybe eligible for a discount on their automobile insurance premium. Pre-payment is requested. Checks or money orders made payable to AARP and mailed to the YWCA , 58 S. Portage St. Westfield, NY 14787. Pre-registration is required by calling the YWCA at 326-2011.
