Six-Run First Inning Leads Clymer To Div. 4 Victory

ELLICOTTVILLE – Clymer (2-1, 2-2) erupted for six runs in the first inning and went on to prevailing over Ellicottville (0-4, 1-5), 12-5, in Division 4 baseball on Monday.

The Pirates had five hits with Dan Lictus and Austin Crosby drilling RBI doubles with three errors helping the cause.

Clymer added five more in the fourth with three more errors aiding the Pirates.

Lictus, Crosby and winning pitcher Mitch Einink drilled two hits. Einink pitched the first five innings with seven strikeouts and Crosby went the final two innings with three strikeouts.

Alex Fischer had two hits, Alan Lott and Alex Steinbroner added doubles with Lott driving in a run for Ellicottville.


SHERMAN – Jared Keppel had a huge day for undefeated North Collins, both on the mound and at the plate in a 19-9 victory over host Sherman (1-1).

Keppel not only struck out seven, but helped his own cause with a triple, a single, five RBIs and scored three runs

After giving up six runs in the first, the Wildcats battled back to a 7-6 deficit, but North Collins (4-0) responded with 10 runs to ice the contest,

Also for the winners, Josh Keough had two hits and scored three times and James Keough also drilled two hits, scored twice and had two RBIs.

Jeremy Cole went 5 innings with seven strikeouts for the Wildcats and also contributed a double with two RBIs, Jake Ames added a double and single with one RBI and Ethan Lyon also had a double and single with three RBIs.


RIPLEY – Thirteen errors led to numerous runs for Brocton in a 10-4 victory over Ripley (2-1).

Pitching the distance for Brocton (2-2) was W. Austin with a six-hitter, 14 strikeouts and two walks.

Brocton scored five runs in the first inning and to wrap up the game in the early going. The Bulldogs had just five hits with a RBI single by T. Appel in the first inning.

Trevor Enterline and Eric Horstman delivered two hits with Enterline having a two-run double in the loss. Teammate Cody Sargent also hit a double.
