Richard W. “Dick” Lloyd

MAYVILLE – Richard W. “Dick” Lloyd, 65, of 78 Morris St., Mayville, died Sunday (April 21, 2013), in Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, N.Y.

He was born July 25, 1947, in Westfield, the son of Edgar H. and Erma Barringer Lloyd.

Dick was a graduate of Mayville Central School. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.

Dick owned and operated Medina Services in Mayville, an excavating and crane business.

He was a life-member of the American Legion in Mayville, and a life- member of the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post Veterans of Foreign Wars in Mayville. He was also a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and was an honorary member of the Sea Lion Project.

Dick enjoyed racing, camping and the outdoors.

He is survived by his mother, Erma Lloyd of Westfield; his wife, Fran-cine “Fran” Maretti Lloyd, whom he married Nov. 8, 1969, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville; one daughter, Sandra Jennifer Lloyd of Mayville; one son, Craig Mathew Lloyd and his fiance, Erika Anderson of Charleston, S.C.; and a sister, Mary V. (Duane) Miller of Cobleskill, N.Y. and The Villages, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Lloyd on Oct. 17, 1998.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville. The Rev. Stephen Morse and the Rev. Gary Nutt will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
