­Paul Bradley Hanson

Paul Bradley Hanson, 56, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday (April 17, 2013), in the Erie VA Medical Center, Erie Pa., surrounded by his loving wife, daughter and family. He died after a courageous battle with ALS.

Paul was born May 21, 1956, in Jamestown, the son of Edward C. and Patricia Emond Hanson Sr.

He was a 1975 graduate of Falconer High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1978, as a tank gunner. Paul was a self-employed auto mechanic and owned and operated Boswell’s Garage.

Paul was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association of America, Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association and the Herman Kent Post American Legion. He enjoyed racing at the Lowville Drag Raceway and watching NASCAR. Paul also enjoyed Fords, attending classic car shows and tractor pull shows and tink-ering with antique engines. Paul was an animal lover and will be sadly missed by a large group of friends.

He is survived by his wife, Susan E. Candelora Hanson, whom he married April 5, 2012, in Jamestown; a daughter, Leighann Marie Hanson (Robert Sargent) of Falconer; three grandchildren: Madilynn Isabella Marie McIntyre, Tyler Edward Bradley McIntyre, Brody Raymond Henry Sargent; his parents Edward C. and Patricia Hanson Sr. of Jamestown; three brothers: Edward C. (Polly) Hanson of Frewsburg, James R. Hanson of Jamestown, and Andrew J. (Amy) Hanson of Jamestown; three sisters: Karen B. DeJoseph of Bemus Point, Kathleen E. Colville of Jamestown, and Kelly J. (Tom) Dermont of Findley Lake; several nieces and nephews; his dog Tober, and several cats.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Jacqueline B. Emond.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Tim Stahlman, pastor of Family Church, will officiate. Burial with military honors will be held in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 5-8 p.m. Sunday in the Falconer Funeral Home.
