Anne H. Peterson

Anne H. Peterson, 90, of the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Hultquist Place, 175 Aldren Ave., and 325 Falconer St., passed away Wednesday (April 17, 2013), in Jamestown, N.Y.

An area resident most of her life, she was born March 20, 1923, in Lyndora, Pa., the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Dugan Hriso.

Anne was a 1940 graduate of Meadville High School, and in earlier years was employed by Dahlstrom Metallic and Automatic Voting Machine. Prior to retirement in 1983, Anne had been employed at various local businesses as a bookkeeper.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Jamestown, the First Lutheran Church council on which she was one of the first women to serve, the Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the Altar Society and Cradle Roll Mothers. Anne was also a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, AARP, and Marvin House.

Surviving are her son, Frederick R. Peterson of Akron, Ohio; her daughter, Sheila K. Warner of Mansfield, Ohio; five grandchildren: Cheyenne Davidson, Jeremy Peterson, Kentee Warner, Kendra Warner and Michael Peterson; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Helen Miller of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Marie Gidus of Columbus, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVern G. Peterson, whom she married Feb. 3, 1945, in the parsonage of First Lutheran Church, and who died Dec. 26, 1997; two brothers: John and Michael Hriso; and a sister, Mary Hriso.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, in the Christ Chapel of the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center, 715 Falconer St., Jamestown, N,Y. The Rev. Daniel Nagle, pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service in the Christ Chapel of the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
