Skate Park To Host Event

Soaring Up Skate Park at the Gateway Center, 31 Water St., Jamestown will be hosting a skateboard and bike demo Friday. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and the event closes at midnight.

The cost is $10 at the door or $8 for those who “like” The Skate Church 14701 on Facebook. The cost of admission includes pizza and a drink. Trevor Heyd from Michigan with Stay True Ministries will be speaking. He also is very good on a skateboard. There will be shirts and other merchandise available for sale, and local DJ Jeremy Dahlgren, dubstep and electro house music.

The Skate Church 14701 was established in 2012 and is a youth-focused ministry spreading the love of God via the skate park. Sundays from 2-5 p.m. Soaring Up Skate Park is filled with bike, skateboard, scooters and rollerbladers who get to ride the park for free if they are there before 3 p.m. From 3-3:30 p.m. the riders are asked to listen to someone share the gospel encouraging the leaders of tomorrow to open their Bibles and study God’s word.
