Spaghetti Dinner Set For Sunday

SINCLAIRVILLE – A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held at noon Sunday in the Sinclairville Fire Hall dining room to help raise money for the Dewyea family of Sinclairville. Bill and Sue Dewyea have had many expenses due to their illnesses, and Dewyea died in January. This leaves expenses for his wife which need to be paid. Mrs. Dewyea continues her battle with illness. The benefit dinner will help with some of the financial burden. The dinner will include a full spaghetti dinner. The public is welcome to attend. Pre-sale tickets for the dinner may be purchased from dinner chairpersons Bob Clark or Bill Hulett. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.

All-You-Can Eat Breakfast Sunday

ELLINGTON – An all-you-can eat breakfast sponsored by The Ellington Town Picnic Association will be held from 8-11 a.m. Sunday at the Ellington Fire Hall. The breakfast includes: pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, assorted pastries, coffee, hot chocolate, juice and milk. The cost is $8 for adults, and $4.50 for children 12 and under. There is no charge for children under 3.

Library Week Begins Sunday

The Fluvanna Free Library will host a variety of events during National Library Week, April 14-20. Children will receive a sticker sheet and bookmark for entering the coloring contest, which will have a stuffed animal as the grand prize. Entries need to be received by April 20 with coloring sheets available at the library. Adults can enter a “Can you guess the author?” contest with a $10 prize to be used at Novel Destination. Also overdue items can be returned at no charge next week. For more information, contact the library 487-1773.

Masonic Lodge To Host Dinner

FREWSBURG – The Carroll Masonic Lodge, Frewsburg will hold its annual spaghetti dinner from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday. The meal includes salad, bread, coffee or water and dessert. The cost is $8 for adults; $5 for children. Proceeds will go toward the annual scholarship.

City Roads Closed For Work

Jeffrey Lehman, Jamestown DPW director, said that Lakeview Avenue, from Newton Avenue to Falconer Street, is now closed to through traffic until further notice to facilitate road reconstruction. Motorists must use alternate routes of travel and, as always, motorists should use extra caution while driving near this and other construction areas.

Westfield To Flush Hydrants

WESTFIELD – The village of Westfield will be flushing hydrants in the water district during the weeks of April 15 through May 10, Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Flushing will start at the highest point (southern end of the village) and proceed to the lowest point. The water will be slightly discolored and caution should be taken with regard to washing clothes. The water will not be unsafe to drink. For more information, call the Water Department at 326-2832.
