Benefit Planned For Fire Chief

FREWSBURG – Friends of 34-year-old Gerry Fire Chief Carl Fransen are holding a benefit auction Saturday beginning at noon at the Frewsburg Firemen’s Grounds. The event will include a bake sale, giveaway and Chinese auction in addition to the live auction. David E. Miller Paintings donated an original painting that will be part of the live auction. Junior Falcons To Host Dinner

FALCONER – The Falconer Junior Falcons are having a chicken dinner fundraiser at the Falconer Moose on Saturday from 4-7:30 p.m. All proceeds to benefit the Falconer Junior Falcons football program. Tickets are available at the Falconer Moose the day of the event. Tickets are $8 per dinner. Eat-in or take-out is available.

Lot Owners Meeting Planned

The Ivory Cemetery Lot Owners annual meeting will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Ivory Baptist Church. Refreshments will be served. Anyone interested in the care and operation of the cemetery is encouraged to attend.

Artists Group To

Meet Saturday

The Chautauqua County Porcelain Artists will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ First United Methodist Church. Laurie Wilcox will give devotions. Heidi Bird will teach a lesson on painting beavers. Members attending should take a piece of porcelain, paints and a sandwich and are reminded to furnish pieces of painted porcelain for the May exhibit in the Lakewood Library.

Shape Up Camp Begins Saturday

Pinterest Event Set For Thursday

On Thursday, April 18, YWCA Jamestown will be holding a Pinterest event from 6-8 p.m. in YWCA’s Auditorium located at the corner of Fourth and Main streets in Jamestown. Participants will enjoy food and drinks, along with “Pin it, Make it, Take it” sessions: craft, home decor, upcycling and beauty, and a chance at door prizes. Rodeo Seniors To Meet Today

GERRY – The Gerry Rodeo City Senior Citizens will meet today at noon in the United Methodist Church for a luncheon and program. Those attending are asked to bring a dish of food to pass and their own table setting. Following the luncheon, a musical program by Cecil Miller will be presented. New members are always welcome.

Gardening Film Showing Set

The documentary, “A Community of Gardeners,” by Cintia Cabib will be shown Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Fireplace Room at the Prendergast Library with discussion to follow. The movie is sponsored and presented by the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation, with Peter Lombardi, director, and Mary Maxwell, Neighborhood Project associate. The event is free and open to the public.

Dialogues Show Begins Saturday

Dialogues, a half-hour television program produced by Mark Kiyak from the State University at Fredonia, will air starting at 3 and 9 p.m. starting Saturday and ending April 19. Hosted by Tina Zboch, the program will feature guest Hannah Farley. Farley is a senior at SUNY Fredonia and is president of the local Campus Climate Challenge and is the new Gleaning Project Coordinator for Chautauqua County Rural Ministry. Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Mayville, Chautauqua, North Harmony, Sherman, Westfield and Portland areas.

Falconer Seniors To Meet Monday

FALCONER – The Falconer Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 22, in the Town of Ellicott Building, North Work Street, Falconer. Members should take an appetizer. Coffee and tea will be served. Lucio and Muriel Casas will present a program on flowers and plants from Peru and Chile.

Kent Post To Host Dinner Event

CELORON – The American Legion Herman Kent Post 777, 26 Jackson Ave., will host a spring fling party and big band dinner dance on Saturday.
