Expect Water Issues Today

LAKEWOOD – Two water valve replacements taking place today in Lakewood will cause discolored water in most of the village all day and into this evening. In addition, customers in the vicinity of the valve replacements will be without water between 8:30 a.m. and noon today. Water will be shut off on Terrace between Lakeview and Chautauqua north to the lake; and on New York and Pennsylvania avenues between Terrace and Summit. BPU employees will replace water valves on Terrace Avenue at New York and Pennsylvania avenues.

Juneteenth Plans Vendor Show

The Jamestown Juneteenth Committee will hold its inaugural vendor showcase from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dr. Lillian Vitanza Ney Renaissance Center, corner of Third and Washington streets. Exercise Classes Begin Monday

CHAUTAUQUA – Chautauqua Health and Fitness, located in the Turner Community Center at Chautauqua Institution on Route 394, is offering several group exercise classes this spring. Classes include morning, evening and Saturday cycling sessions, Pilates, kickboxing, and a water workout class in the Turner Community Pool. Classes begin Monday and will run for eight or nine weeks. YMCA To Offer Youth Karate

The Jamestown YMCA will offer youth karate for students ages 5 to 15 years and adult karate starting Tuesday through June 6. The classes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. for youth and 5:30-7 p.m. for adults. Christina Kebort, a seventh-degree blackbelt in Shotokan Karate, will teach students self-esteem, respect, confidence, discipline and self-defense. She has more than 13 years experience in the karate arena. The youth class cost is $40 for YMCA Members and $60 for potential members, and the adult class cost is $40 for YMCA Members and $65 for potential members. Lakewood Board To Meet Monday

LAKEWOOD – The public hearing for the tentative budget for the village of Lakewood will be held at 6:45 p.m. Monday. The village’s annual organizational meeting will be happening during the same meeting.
