Dunkirk Man Charged Following Traffic Stop On Monday
POMFRET – Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies charged a Dunkirk man Monday following a traffic stop in the town of Pomfret.
Deputies at noon stopped a vehicle on Route 83 for failing to yield the right of way. An investigation found that Joseph T. Pieszak, 44, of Roberts Road, had a revoked driver’s license.
A police reported noted that Pieszak has had multiple revocations for prior alcohol-related driving offenses. Officers also discovered a forged New York state inspection certificate during their investigation.
Pieszak was taken into custody and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation, forged inspection certificate and failure to yield the right of way.
Pieszak was arraigned and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
