Cattaraugus Man Trespasses On School Grounds, Dumpster Dives
LITTLE VALLEY – A Cattaraugus man has been charged after surveillance video repeatedly caught him trespassing on Cattaraugus-Little Valley School District property.
State Police said Charles K. Cox, 29, was seen on video entering school property after hours and climbing into district dumpsters. Surveillance video showed Cox would climb into the dumpster and remove aluminum cans around the same time almost every night.
Staff at the school district alerted State Police of the trespasser in conjunction with the Safe School and Outreach programs.
Police on March 7 identified Cox, and warned him not to return to the school or he would be charged. Within 48 hours of the warning, police said the Cattaraugus man was observed on camera on school district property.
State Police were again notified of the incident.
Cox was charged with trespassing and is due in New Albion Court later this month.
