Westfield Woman Charged With DWI; Nearly Strikes Patrol Car

BROCTON – A woman who nearly struck a police vehicle was charged Saturday with aggravated drunken driving.

Colleen R. Sutton, 43, of East Main Road, Westfield, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater and failure to keep right.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies stopped Sutton on Central Avenue in the village of Brocton after she failed to keep right and nearly struck their patrol vehicle. The Westfield resident was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody.

Sutton’s BAC was found to be .24 percent, three times over the legal limit. She was issued appearance tickets.
