Set For Sunday
The Corry and Jamestown Coin Clubs will hold their 14th Collective Coin Show from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Herman Kent 777 Legion Post, corner of Fairmount and Jackson avenues, in West Ellicott near the former Blockbuster. Admission is free. Many coin dealers will be available to buy, sell and appraise United States, ancient and foreign coins. Prizes featuring gold and silver coins will be given away at 3:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit both coin clubs.
To Hike Sunday
On Sunday the Allegheny Outdoor Club will stage a hike and its quarterly planning meeting in Bradford. Participants will meet at the intersection of Route 770 and Route 219 in Custer City at 2 p.m. From there the group will carpool to the start of the hike and hike three miles on the Blaisdell-Emery Trail to the home of Pat and John Shinaberger for the planning and eating meeting. Chili and cornbread will be served and hikers can bring a side dish to pass. The group will schedule events for April, May and June. Gerry Egg Hunt
GERRY – The Town of Gerry’s annual Easter egg hunt that was scheduled for Saturday has been postponed. The event has been rescheduled for April 13 at 10 a.m. at the town park.
Meal Reservations Due March 29
WEST VALLEY – The Cattaraugus County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board, the Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism, the Cattaraugus County Farm Bureau, the Cattaraugus County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Southern Tier West Regional Planning and Development Board will host the second annual Cattaraugus County Farmer-Neighbor Dinner on Wednesday, April 10, at the West Valley Fire Hall, 9091 Route 240, West Valley. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with agricultural related exhibitor displays and appetizers. Dinner will begin at 6:45 p.m. followed by the speaker and awards. Reservations for the dinner are due no later than March 29 and can be made by contacting Deb Miller at 938-2318 or emailing email@example.com. The dinner costs $20 a person and reservations must be made prior to the event. Tickets will not be sold at the dinner.
FALCONER – Falconer seniors will meet on Monday. Thirty members attended a recent meeting, opened by a flag salute and prayer. Discussion was on holding a corned beef and cabbage lunch to be catered by Mariner’s Pier Express and future trips. Incentive awards were given to Josie Fonti, Angie Muscarella, Dolly Chimira and Norma Walker. A thank you was received from Mary and Gordon Carlberg. The meeting was closed by Theresa LaPlaca, seconded by Della Cusimano.
Blood Drive Set For Monday
WCA Hospital will be holding a Community Blood Bank blood drive on Monday from noon to 5 p.m. The drive is open to the public.
