Grace M. Baran
Grace M. Baran, “Chickadee,” 75 of Cobb Road, Kennedy, died unexpectedly Wednesday (March 20, 2013) in WCA Hospital.
Grace knew she was loved by her children and grandchildren. Grace passed peacefully and was greeted by her beloved husband, Leon P. Baran Sr., with open arms.
A Kennedy resident since 1963, where she had her home and family, was born Oct. 18, 1937, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late Stanley and Alice Irene Higgins Jackson.
Grace was a devoted wife to Leon P. Baran Sr. and a loving mother and grand-mother. Grace had a heart of gold and was always willing to help her family, church and her extended family. She was very sociable and was able to develop friendships easily. She enjoyed reading her Bible, remembering her husband, watching Jeopardy! and being with her fam-ily. She loved cats and will be missed dearly by Cocoa. Grace was known for her kisses, smiles, inner strength and stubbornness. Grace is a peace with God and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Grace was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of Clymer and in earlier years she was a member of the Falconer PTA having served as room mother. She had also been a den mother for Cub Scouts and Brownies.
Surviving are her four children: two sons: Christopher M. Baran and Leon P. Baran Jr., whom she resided with and received excellent care and love from; two daughters: Teresa L. Baran and Ann M. Baran, both of Falconer; and two grandchildren: Heather Frodelius and Zachary Baran from Falconer.
Besides her husband, Leon P. Baran Sr. (2008) and her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Frances Jackson.
Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Clarks Corners, next to her loving husband.
