Josephine M. DiSabantonio

Josephine M. Lodico DiSabantonio, 89, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., died Friday, March 15, 2013. She was in the Vitas Hospice Care Center of Physicians Regional Medical Center in Naples, Fla. She was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Fredonia, N.Y. She was the daughter of Cosimo and Carrie Lodico.

Josephine married Joseph DiSabantonio Jr. (July 29, 1949) and together they were active members of St. Johns Roman Catholic Church. Before moving to Naples, Fla., she was a recent a member of Our Lady of Loreto in Falconer, N.Y.

She was a Girl Scout leader and as well as a Cub Scout leader. Josephine enjoyed being an active mom for her growing family; they traveled extensively throughout the United States and Italy.

Josephine was a loving and caring woman, who enjoyed baking, cooking and the company of her family and friends. She touched many hearts and extended her love to all those she knew. Upon the passing of loving husband Joe, she traveled south for the winter months. She stayed with her daughter Jayne and her family in Naples, Fla.

Josephine recently moved permanently to Na-ples to share time with her daughter Jayne and son Joe. Wanting to have more activities she moved to an apartment at Tuscany Villas Assisted Living. She made many new friends and enjoyed the activities with all of her neighbors. The entire group especially enjoyed the Tuesday afternoon happy hour before dinner.

Josephine is survived by her son, Joseph (Diane) DiSabantonio III, of Naples, Fla.; two daughters: Julie Ann (Richard) Wetzstein of Jamestown, N.Y., and Jayne (Patrick) Sventek of Naples, Fla.; and six grandchildren: Richard Wetzstein Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Joseph (Tracy) DiSabantonio IV (Joseph V and Anna, great-grandchildren) of Chattanooga, Tenn., Lee Ann (Matthew) Ditonto of Jamestown, N.Y., Ryah (Jeff) Lovier (Ava Grace, great-granddaughter), Sheena (Christopher) Villarraga of Naples, Fla., and Janelle Sventek of Naples, Fla. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Lodico, 93 of North Tonawanda, N.Y., and many nephews and nieces.

Josephine is preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph, who died Aug. 30, 2001.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23, 2013, in our Lady of Loreto Church, Falconer, N.Y., at 10 a.m. The Rev. Joseph Janaczek, pastor of St. Patrick Parish of Randolph and Our Lady of Loreta Parish of Falconer, will be celebrant.

Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday March 22, 2013, in the Migliore Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday morning in the funeral home.
