Thrift Shop To Hold Spring Sale

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., Jamestown, is having its $2 spring bag sale in all of the major departments from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The shop will close on Saturday, March 23, and will reopen on April 3 with new spring merchandise. Summer hours will resume then with the shop open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. Off-street parking is available in the church lot located off East Fifth Street. Proceeds from the shop, which is run by volunteers from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church as well as RSVP and the community, are donated to local outreach programs.

College Open House Is Thursday

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, invites adults who are considering starting college or returning to their studies to attend an adult undergraduate admissions open house on Thursday. The open house will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a one-hour exhibit fair in Roche Hall, located in the college’s School of Science complex. A seminar on admissions and financial aid will be held at 6:30 p.m., followed by an admissions application workshop at 7:30 p.m. Licensed Registered Nurses interested in learning more about the college’s RN-to-B.S. program also are invited to a special one-hour information meeting that will be held in 185 Benson beginning at 5:30 p.m. New admissions applications and Penn State reenrollment applications will be accepted at the open house. Those who attend the event will have application fees waived, a savings of up to $50. There is no charge to attend the adult student open house. Final Sale

Begins Thursday

The Victory Tabernacle Thrift Store, 205 Cherry St., will hold a going-out-of-business sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Saturday and Monday, March 25, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. The store will close at the end of business on March 25.

Dinner And A Movie Is Friday

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Community Baptist Church, located at 25 Maple Ave., in the village, will hold a dinner and movie night Friday in the Fellowship Hall. The dinner will begin at 5 p.m. and the movie, “Hugo” will follow. The dinner and movie night are free and open to everyone. Note the time change for this month’s dinner. Everyone is welcome.

Communion Service Is Monday

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, corner of Fourth and Main streets, Jamestown, will hold Lenten Holy Communion services at 12:05 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 25 and 26. Holy Communion will also be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, in the undercroft.

Development Group To Meet

The Busti-Hamlet Development Group will be meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Busti Fire Department, 886 Mill Road, Busti. The public is welcome to attend.

Fundraising Gala Set For Saturday

“Every Little Black Dress Needs a Pink Ribbon,” a fundraising gala will be held Saturday from 7-10 p.m. at the Jamestown Gateway Station on West Second Street. In combination with October’s sit-in at Friendly’s, the events were created to raise $25,000 for breast cancer awareness. The event will feature a cocktail-party atmosphere with entertainment, a silent auction and a fashion show featuring breast cancer survivors.
