Three Charged In Rash Of Burglaries In County

MAYVILLE – Three men have been charged following a rash of burglaries in Chautauqua County.

Two subjects, Alex Tylwalk, 21, of Dunkirk, and Richard J. Patterson, 21, of Brocton, were taken into custody Tuesday by Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies. The third suspect, Dustin W. Hale, 25, of Silver Creek, was taken into custody Feb. 17.

All three men have been charged with one count of second-degree burglary. More charges could be added later on, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Hale currently is being held in Chautauqua County Jail, while Tylwalk and Patterson were being held on an indictment and awaiting arraignment in County Court.

Sheriff Joe Gerace said his investigators worked with Dunkirk and Westfield police departments, and noted the men are tied to as many as 12 to 15 reported burglaries. The sheriff said a rash of thefts in Pennsylvania are being investigated as well.

“It was a tremendous effort by our investigators,” Gerace said.
