Kennedy Man Faces Charges Following Cab Incident

KENNEDY – State Police have charged a Kennedy man after he broke a cab window in February.

Jason Degolier turned himself in Saturday at the State Police barracks in Jamestown following a month-long investigation. A trooper last month was notified by a cab driver that Degolier intentionally broke the front passenger-side window of his cab after the driver had given him a ride home from a bar.

Police learned that Degolier allegedly struck the window after being dropped off, causing the glass to break on the inside of the cab. Some of the glass struck the driver in the face, State Police said, causing him to seek medical attention.

The driver’s eyes were washed out, but was not diagnosed with any injury, a police report said.

Degolier was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. He was processed at police barracks and issued an appearance ticket. Degolier is scheduled to appear in Poland Court at a later date to answer the charge.

The cab company declined to press charges for the broken window.
