Lesley K. Lulas
CATTARAUGUS – Lesley Karen Lulas, 53, of Route 353, passed away unexpectedly at home March 16, 2013.
Born Oct. 11, 1959, in Sacramento, Calif., Lesley was the daughter of the late Wendel and Jean (Greenwood) Brinks.
Lesley was a “military brat.” Her father was stationed several places in the United States before calling Cattaraugus, N.Y., home.
A 1977 graduate of Cattaraugus Central, Lesley also attended Ellicottville BOCES and went on to Jamestown Community College, where she received her degree in nursing. Several years after being together, Lesley married David R. “Horton” Lulas. They were married July 6, 1985, in the East Otto United Methodist Church; Horton survives. An LPN, Lesley worked as a senior supervisor for the state of New York. She worked for the WNYDDSO; her last supervising position was in the state home on Route 62. Lesley loved animals and enjoyed ceramic classes. She was a member of the Red Hats of Napoli; she was one of the Napoli Nymphs of the Red Hatters. She also enjoyed playing cards.
Besides her husband, Lesley is survived by her two children: Ian D. Lulas of Albany and Corey R. Lulas of Andover, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Shona) Dasher of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was grandmother to Kyla and Dan, and aunt to Trisha, Nicole, David, Donald, Timmy, Meghan, Erin and Allison. Lesley is also survived by in-laws Donald “Abbott” (Cammy), Valerie and Edward “Merle” (Michelle) Lulas. Several great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the Schindler Funeral Home 44 Center St., Gowanda, 532-4200, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Wednesday March 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Gowanda Ambulance Service P.O.
