TEA Party Patriots To Meet

LAKEWOOD – Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will hold their regular monthly meeting one week earlier, on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Lakewood American Legion, 174 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood. Sheriff Joseph Gerace will make a key presentation on the 2013 New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act. Additionally, updated information will be presented on County Legislator Hoyer’s resolution to delete prayer prior to county legislative meetings, plus video clips of Dr. Ben Carson’s speech will be shown. The public is invited to attend.

Archangels To Perform At JCC

The Archangels, the praise band of Camp Street United Methodist Church, will perform during a coffeehouse at Jamestown Community College on Wednesday. The 7 p.m. performance, sponsored by the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship student club at JCC, will be held in the Student Union. Area youth groups are welcome to attend the free performance. Critical Discussion Series Continues

Prendergast Library will offer the fourth in its Critical Discussion Series from 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Fireplace Room at the library with a program on Fracking – Impacts on Environment, Health and Society. Moderator Becky Nystrom, Jamestown Community College professor of biology, will join panelists Sarah Buckley, Robert M. Ciesielski, David Kowalski and Rita Yelda. Buckley will discuss fracking basics from wellpad to pipeline; Ciesielski, leasing and legal issues such as signing considerations, compulsory integration, landowner rights, flipping, and impacts on mortgages and insurance; Kowalski, environmental and health issues including an analysis of industry positions vs. other studies and evidence; and Yelda, fracking developments in New York during the last four years. Park Project To Meet Wednesday

The next meeting of the Lillian Dickson Park Project will be Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation’s offices at Third and Washington streets. The group will finalize plans for the upcoming season, including neighborhood and park activities, fundraising and Neighborhood Watch. Storytime To Resume April 10

BEMUS POINT – Storytime at the Bemus Point Library will not be held on March 20, March 27 and April 3. Storytime will resume April 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. For more information, call 386-2274.

Job Fair To Be Held Friday

JCC will host a nursing job and education fair from 1-2:30 p.m. on Friday in the Carnahan Center. Health care employers and representatives of four-year colleges have been invited to provide information on health care career and educational opportunities.
