Two Of JPD’s Most Wanted Taken Into Custody

Two of Jamestown Police Department’s Top 10 Most Wanted were taken into custody this week.

Jamestown police Capt. Robert Samuelson said Anthony R. Ford, 39, recently was found in Pittsburgh, Pa. Ford, who had previously lived in Jamestown, was a known drug dealer. He was wanted for criminal sale of a controlled substance, Jamestown police said in a news release announcing the apprehensions.

Police in Pittsburgh picked up Ford for an alleged probation violation; he was held as a fugitive from justice before waiving an extradition hearing.

Ford was brought back to Jamestown on Tuesday, Samuelson said. He was arraigned and was committed to Chautauqua County Jail.

“He was wanted here for selling drugs, and we were able to get him back here,” Samuelson said.

Also taken in custody from the Top 10 list was John C. Griffin, 34, of Warren, Pa. Griffin was wanted for grand larceny after police said he used his employer’s credit card to purchase gasoline for his personal vehicle.

“We were told he used the card to buy gas for himself,” Samuelson said.

Griffin was located in the city of Warren by Sheriff’s deputies there. He was being held in Warren County Jail, and was awaiting an extradition hearing to be brought back to Jamestown.
