Robert J. LeBarron Sr.

CHERRY CREEK – Robert J. LeBarron Sr., 82, a retired road crew worker for New York State Department of Transportation, where he worked for 25 years, died peacefully with his family at his side Sunday, March 10, 2013, at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, N.Y.

He was born April 23, 1930, in Gowanda, N.Y., the son of the late Arthur and Blanche (Williams) LeBarron.

Robert had also been employed by the Peter Cooper Tannery Glue Plant in Gowanda, for 20 years and served as the town police officer for the town of Cherry Creek for several years.

Robert was a lifetime member of the Cherry Creek Fire Department, a member of the Chautauqua County Fire Police Association, the Cherry Creek Masonic Lodge, a special deputy of Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, a member of Cherry Creek United Methodist Church and graduated from South Dayton High School

Bob will be remembered for his love of family and community.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennie L. Weaver and his son, Robert J. LeBarron Jr., both of Cherry Creek; his granddaughter, Apryl (Michael) Seivert, his great-grandson, Derek Austin and two great-granddaughters: Jenna Austin and Alyssa Seivert, all of Cherry Creek, N.Y.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dolores LeBarron; and his sister, Jeneice LeBarron.

Visitation will be held at Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Balcom Corners, South Dayton, N.Y., on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., with a fire department memorial at 6:45 p.m.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. from the funeral chapel. Pastor Thomas O. Maynard, of Celebration Fellowship, will officiate. Burial will be in the Cherry Creek Central Cemetery
