JAMESTOWN POLICE

Christopher M. Williams, 26, of Jamestown was charged with failing to signal, failure to maintain lane, driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana. Officers on Saturday at 3:32 a.m. observed a vehicle swerving as it traveled on Falconer Street. Williams was found to be intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and was found to have a blood alcohol content more than double the legal limit. Williams was awaiting arraignment.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE

Dustin M. Newman, 22, of Crossman Street, Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. Police said Newman allegedly stole merchandise totaling $34.98 without paying. He was issued an appearance ticket and will be in court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

CARROLL – William A. Swagler, 44, of Erie, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, speeding and disobeying a stop sign. Deputies on Saturday at 2:16 a.m. responded to a single vehicle crash in the town of Carroll. Swagler was found to have been traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed through a guard rail on Route 62. Swagler was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody for processing. He was released to a third party and will appear in court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN – Jose L. Maisonet, 18, was charged with disorderly conduct. Deputies on Friday at 2:05 a.m. observed a male subject in the roadway on East Second Street that was obstructing traffic. Maisonet was seen slapping a vehicle that had slowed due to his presence in the roadway. Maisonet will issued an appearance ticket and will be in court at a later date.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

JAMESTOWN – James Brown, 39, of Baker Street, was charged with driving while intoxicated. Brown on Saturday was stopped for moving from a lane unsafely on Route 394. He was found to be intoxicated and had a blood alcohol content of .12 percent. Brown was released with traffic tickets and will be back in court at a later date.

KIANTONE – Kevin Haglund, 32, of Maple Street, Jamestown, and Dominique Leeper, 27, of Arden Parkway, Jamestown, were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Both suspects on Friday were found in possession of less than 25-grams of marijuana in their vehicles. Haglund and Leeper were released on appearance tickets and will be back in court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN – Jeffrey Young, 54, of Merriam Street, Ellicott, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Troopers on Friday saw a switch blade in Young’s vehicle during a traffic stop. He was processed at police barracks and arraigned in Jamestown City Court. Young was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
