Randolph Man Charged In Sex Abuse Case
RANDOLPH – A 66-year-old Randolph man is in Chautauqua County Jail after being taken into custody Friday following a sex abuse investigation.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s officials say John O. Hitchcock of 13 New St., Randolph, sexually abused a juvenile male multiple times between Randolph, Poland and Ashville in September and October of last year.
Hitchcock was taken into custody Friday at his Randolph residence without incident. He is charged with seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Hitchcock will be arraigned in Chautauqua County Court on Monday.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, the Cattaraugus County Child Advocacy Center in Olean, the Chautauqua County Child Advocacy Program in Jamestown, and the Cattaraugus and Chautauqua county district attorney’s offices.
