Owen Thomas Brady

Aug. 10, 1932 to March 1, 2013

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Owen Thomas Brady was born to Cornelius and Nora Brady in Ohio. He was the third of four siblings. His brother and sisters were Jim Brady, Patricia Chant and Rosanne Brooks.

Jamestown, N.Y. was his stomping grounds from the train yards to his beloved Jamestown High School, graduating class of 1950.

Owen grew up in a strong Irish family. Family meant everything to him. Owen joined the U.S. Air Force and was sent to Texas, where he met his wife of 57 years, Roberta. After the Air Force, Owen began working for IBM, then was later employed by and retired from Moore Business Forms after 30 years. The family was transferred from Irving, Texas, to Charlotte, N.C., in 1977, with Moore Business Forms. Owen was the district manager of the Charlotte office until he retired. After retiring, Owen started his own company, Brady Business Products, which he ran for 21 years.

Owen and Roberta were members of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. Owen was an active members of the St. Gabriel’s Men’s Club and very proud to be part of the Toastmasters Club.

Owen is survived by his loving wife, Roberta; his children: Shawn Brady and wife, Ann Brady, Greg Brady and Colleen Brady Crawford. Owen loved his grandchildren with all his heart, Thomas, Emma, Patrick, Hannah, Grace and Zack.

The funeral will be held at St. Gabriel’s Church, Charlotte, N.C., on March 9 at 2 p.m. Friends and visitors will be greeted by the family directly after Mass at the church.
