Update: Fourth Suspect Charged In Sunday Assault; Botched Drug Deal Cited
A fourth suspect has been charged in the Sunday assault and robbery at the Charlestown Apartments in the city.
Jamestown police believe a drug deal gone bad resulted in the attack.
William D. Sloppy, 28, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with fourth-degree conspiracy. Sloppy was being held in Jamestown City Jail awaiting arraignment.
Jamestown police on Tuesday also charged Stacey L. Simmers, 31, of Warren, Pa., for her role in the incident. Police at 1 a.m. took Simmers into custody without incident. She was charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree conspiracy after being located at an East Second Street residence.
Police said a male on Sunday was planning to meet a group of people at the Charles Street apartment complex. According to Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department, it is believed the gathering was for a drug deal. The victim, who has not been identified, was assaulted and robbed.
Police on Monday charged Malek A. Morley, 18, and Kyle R. Senear, 18, with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and fourth-degree conspiracy in the attack.
