Tree/Shrub Orders Now Accepted

The Cattaraugus County Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting orders for the 2013 Spring Tree & Shrub Bare Root Seedling Sale. Several species of conifers, hardwoods, shrubs and berries are available, as well as assortment packets for reforestation and wildlife. Orders are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis until March 29. Seedlings will be distributed in April. Lenten Service

Is Wednesday

Elder Dick Gould will preach at the midweek Lenten services held at First Presbyterian Church at noon Wednesday. The service will be held in Bellinger Chapel with lunch to follow in the fellowship hall. This year’s series of sermons is on “Pilgrimage: Past, Present, Onward!”

Winter Book Sale Begins March 13

The Fluvanna Free Library will hold its winter book sale Wednesday and Thursday March 13-14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Items include hardcover and paperback books for both adults and children. Fiction and nonfiction are available. Many videos are priced at 25 cents. DVDs, CDs, magazines and puzzles are available for purchase also. The library received another new queen-size quilt donated by the West Oak Hill Quilters for a fundraiser this year. The tickets are $1 for one and $5 for six. One can purchase a ticket from a West Oak Hill Quilter or at the library. Tickets will be available now until the lucky number is drawn at the November bazaar.

The Western New York Food Express Truck will be at the Ashville United Methodist from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. today. Proof of street address is required for free food which is mostly fresh produce. One must live in one of the following zip code areas: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767 and Stow 14785.

BPU Repairs Waterline Break

Some Jamestown BPU water customers in the downtown area saw discolored water Monday afternoon and overnight due to a repair of a leak on Third Street in front of the Reg Lenna Civic Center. The repair took place Monday morning, and water was restored by 2 p.m.

Class Of 1966

To Hold Dinner

WARREN – The Warren Area High School class of 1966 will hold a dinner get together at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, in the Warren Moose Lodge, 422 Pennsylvania Ave. West, Warren. Membership in the Lodge is not required to attend this dinner. Featured will be several St. Patrick’s Day specials as well as regular menu items. Take 5, a local Warren cover band that plays classic rock, blues and pop, will provide entertainment. Reservations are required and must be made by Friday, March 15.
