AARP Meetings To Be Held

Jamestown AARP Board of Directors will meet Thursday in the parlors of First Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. The general meeting at the same location will be on Tuesday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m. Cashana Sims, of Five Star Urgent Care, will present the program. 2013 dues, at $6 per member, are due and may be paid either in cash or by check. Those paying by cash should have the exact amount. There will be a business meeting, a book exchange and refreshments. All area seniors are welcome.

Panama School To Host Event

PANAMA – The Panama Central School Guidance and Counseling Department will host an 11th-grade parents and students night at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the high school library. Items to be covered will be college selection, the college application process, SAT and ACT testing, and financial aid. For more information, call the school’s guidance office at 782-4448.

Spaghetti Dinner To Be Held

A spaghetti dinner and silent auction to benefit summer camp scholarships will take place from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday at Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, located on the corner of South Main Street and Cole Avenue in Jamestown. Tickets are $6 and include choice of pasta, salad, a drink and dessert. Children 10 and under are $3. Gift baskets will be auctioned off following dinner, with bidding closed at 7 p.m. Call 488-1680 for more details or to purchase tickets.

Grange Meeting Is Saturday

On Saturday, Chautauqua County Pomona Grange will meet at Ripley Grange at 11 a.m. Contest items and committee meetings will be held. The meeting will feature a noon lunch and an auction, followed by business and a program.

Mattress Sale To Be Held Saturday

The Jamestown High School football program will host its fourth-annual mattress sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Mattresses will be on display at Jefferson Middle School, 195 Martin Road. The sale features name-brand mattresses at discount prices. All sizes of mattresses are available. Delivery and free layaway are available. Proceeds directly benefit the football teams.

Rod And Gun Board To Meet

The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary board will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Auxiliary members will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 11. Greeters will be Jan Pintagro and Jan DeVoe. Helpers will be Lyn Spencer and Mary Alonge. Sandy Carlson, Coralyn Boehler and Theresa Perrin will provide refreshments. Entertainment will be the Price is Right.

Vanstrom Event Is March 11

A retirement reception for Donna Vanstrom, executive director, Family Service of the Chautauqua Region, will be held Monday, March 11, from 3-6 p.m. at the Lillian Vitanza Ney Renaissance Center, Jamestown. Friends, coworkers, community members and family will have the opportunity to wish Vanstrom well on her retirement from Family Service of the Chautauqua Region. Vanstrom has been instrumental in supporting the organization’s mission to strengthen the mental health and well-being of individuals, families and our community.
